Getting started

Three steps, and that is the whole list.

You need your station name, the address your stream already plays from, and about five minutes.

1

Say who you are

Your name and your address. We tell you there and then whether yourstation.radiofy.uk is free, and it is yours the moment you finish.

2

Point us at your stream

Paste the address listeners already play. We read what is on air from whatever your playout publishes, so there is nothing to install in the studio.

3

Pick a look

Nine to choose from, and your colour goes in at the same time. Change either one later without losing anything.

Then press publish. The site is live in seconds, and you can keep working on it afterwards.

Features

Everything a station puts online.

Schedule

Drag a show, drop it, save. Overnight shows and the gaps between them are worked out for you.

Now playing

Reads Citrus3, AzuraCast, Icecast or SHOUTcast. Nothing new in the studio.

Requests

Arrive addressed to whoever is on air at that minute. A blocked sender stays blocked.

Presenters

A page each, with a photo, a bio and when they are on.

News and events

A real editor with headings, images and a live preview.

Catch-up

Put last week's show up. It plays in the same player as the live stream.

Listener figures

Counted at the mount, not guessed from page views. Peaks by hour and by show.

Team

Give a presenter a login that reaches their own page and nothing else.

Licences

PRS and PPL numbers in one place, with a reminder before either lapses.

Looks

Nine of them. Swap whenever.

Every look has the same features behind it, so picking one costs you nothing.

NewsFlow, coming

Bulletins that read themselves out.

News, travel and weather, written and voiced for your station and dropped into your playout on the schedule you set. Have a listen to what comes out.

News National headlines, read at the top of the hour 0:00
Travel Roads and rail for your patch, as often as you like 0:00
Weather Today and tomorrow, for where you actually broadcast 0:00

Each one is the output as it goes to air, nothing tidied up afterwards. Yours would carry your voice, your accent and your patch.

The voice is yours to choose Pick the voice and the accent, so it sounds like your part of the country rather than a satnav.
As long or as short as you need Thirty seconds between records, or two minutes on the hour. Set it per bulletin.
Only what your listeners care about National, regional or your own patch, and the same for travel.
Built to be cheap to run Community stations do not have a newsroom, and most cannot carry a newsroom price either. That is the constraint it is being designed around, not an afterthought.

What comes after

The website is what you can buy today.

It is not meant to be the whole of it. The panel is built to carry the rest of what a station runs on, and these are the pieces being built next. None of them is on sale, and we would rather say so than list them as though they were.

If one of these is the reason you would move, say so at help@radiofy.uk. It moves up the list.

Be on air this afternoon.

Your name, your stream address and about five minutes.
